Eligibility: The exhibit is open for individuals participated in the Denver Botanic Gardens Botanical Art and Illustration Certificate Program in 2007-2009.
Subject Matter: Rock Garden Plants, plant list is provided.
Media: Two dimensional original art work. All media that is taught in the Botanical Art and Illustration Program is accepted. All artwork must have white background.
Size and Format: The piece must have the matted size of 16”x 20”. ). The recommended maximum mat opening is 12”x 16” (which allows at least 2" matt all around).
Presentation: Frames will be 16”x 20”and provided. The artists will submit the matted artwork only upon acceptance to the exhibit. Mats must be 4- or 8-ply white or off-white, fitting exactly in a 16”x 20” frame.
Scale: All enlarged views must be clearly labeled with a bar scale, only metric units are allowed.
Labeling: Label the back of the artwork with your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, the Latin name of species portrayed and the sale status. Artwork itself can include the Latin name if the identification and spelling is confirmed.
Submission: Each artist may submit one original artwork. Giclee prints or reproductions of drawings and paintings are not allowed. All submissions will not automatically be included in the exhibit. The artistic sensitivity, technical skill and botanical accuracy will effect to the final selection made by the Colorado Rock Garden Society Officials.

Availability: All artwork must be for sale. Works may not be removed until the close of the exhibition. Denver Botanic Gardens will retain a 30% commission fee for all artwork sold. These profits will benefit the BI program.
Further Information: In order to exhibit the greatest diversity of Rock Garden Plants, and to avoid duplication, the Botanical Illustration program is keeping a list of plants the artists have chosen to portray. Please notify Mervi Hjelmroos-Koski of your plant choice.
